Nord Anglia

Nord Anglia

Bond Street Interiors was approached by Nord Anglia International School New York in 2014 to perform an extensive renovation of their school in New York City. As an international educational provider with more than 46 schools globally, it was important to give the school a cohesive look that paid tribute to their institutional aesthetic, yet was still able to distinguish itself as a New York-based organization.

With over 18,000 sq. ft. of space being renovated, Bond Street Interiors immediately broke ground on the location after the 2014 school year ended by gutting multiple floors and providing widespread hazmat abatement.

Much of our focus during this turnkey project was on three recognized Bond Street Interiors hallmarks:

1. Respecting the uniqueness of the space and working within its limitations to fully achieve the school’s vision.
2. Redefining the space with high-quality workmanship and modernizations that made the building more efficient and technology-capable.
3. Adhering to a strict timeline that would ensure completion before the start of the new school year, ensuring both students and staff could enjoy the new space.

Once the removal and cleanup were completed, the next phase involved installing a new HVAC system to ensure an efficient, climate-controlled workspace for incoming students and faculty. Cost-effective lighting installations across the structure followed, as well as new commercial-grade flooring throughout the renovated portions of the building.

While new lighting and flooring was being installed, our teams worked in tandem to construct new bathrooms for the school. This included installing new fixtures and lavatory equipment to give it an updated look and feel, while ensuring a seamless visual with the rest of the school’s renovated interior.

While these projects were underway, new millwork was also installed, as well as custom glass work to enhance natural lighting and highlight the school’s revamped interior.

With installations, painting and flooring now completed, Bond Street Interiors assembled a wide selection of new commercial-grade furnishings for the school. These included delivering new commercial-grade classroom furniture, conference room furniture, reception area furniture and lounge area furniture that harmonized with the space and was cost-effective.

With the turnkey project successfully completed, on time and on budget, Nord Anglia welcomed back both students and staff to the newly renovated space in September of 2014.

De La Salle Academy

De La Salle Academy

In 2013, De La Salle Academy chose Bond Street Interiors as their partner for an extensive renovation of a six-story, church-owned building in the Upper West Side of New York City. The project included major structural changes, modernizations and safety improvements that would prepare the building for students and faculty before the start of the 2014 school year.

Because the building had been originally built in 1888, Bond Street Interiors wanted to ensure the original space of this historic structure was respected during the project as it was being updated. At the same time, it was also important to meet the turnkey project’s timeframe, so the school would be ready to open in August 2014.

Bond Street Interiors rose to the challenge. First, our team developed a comprehensive plan that included various project checkpoints to ensure on-time completion.

Using our robust project plan, the Bond Street Interiors team initiated construction in the early summer of 2014. We started with the renovation by removing most of the outdated interior through an extensive hazmat abatement project that prepared the space for electrical work.

After completing this phase, we brought in 400 amps of power from the street through street vaults to energize new technology that would be put into operation later in the project. Simultaneously, Bond Street Interiors installed a new fire and safety alarm system across the structure, including a Halon safety system in the kitchen work area we were preparing to overhaul.

The next phase involved the installation of central air skylights and gas lines to power the school’s new laboratories. Once this was completed, new sheetrock and insulation was installed, along with a fresh coat of paint in the school’s preferred colors, and completely new flooring throughout the 120,000-sq. ft. interior.

As part of the turnkey project, De La Salle Academy asked Bond Street Interiors to provide an assortment of modern school and office furnishings that would need to be in place before the school opened in August 2014. In addition to completing the project in the agreed timeframe, Bond Street Interiors delivered the furniture on time, and as a thank you to the school for its commitment to students and staff, our team donated custom millwork and lockers as a show of support.

Success Academy

Success Academy

Bond Street Interiors' relationship with Success Academy spans eight years across multiple turnkey projects. Over the years, our ongoing relationship has included several multi-location projects that took place over summer and holiday breaks, with one project requiring Bond Street Interiors to perform and complete extensive renovations at multiple locations over a 30-day period.

One of Bond Street Interiors' turnkey projects consisted of installing LEED-certified flooring throughout the school to help Success Academy achieve sustainability requirements for LEED certification. In addition, energy-efficient LED lighting was installed, along with new electrical work, to bolster the school’s efforts towards becoming an environmentally friendly institution.

Bond Street Interiors' 8-year relationship also includes the construction and renovation of new institutional bathrooms, with updated flooring, plumbing, paint and fixtures that continued the school’s blueprint for sustainability and efficiency.

Bond Street Interiors also designed and installed custom glasswork to better showcase the school’s modernized look. Other projects have involved custom millwork and pantries that beautifully emphasized Success Academy’s progressive educational environment, while harmonizing with the existing work and learning space.

Our team is particularly proud of constructing the school’s first 3D printing lab at a Success Academy charter school. With this technologically advanced area completed, the school can easily deliver and expand programs in the ready-built space, and ultimately serve future students for decades to come.

As always, Bond Street Interiors completed every project on time and on budget during our longstanding relationship with Success Academy that still continues to this day.

Our company, a charter school network in New York City, contracted Bond Street Interiors over the summer to complete an extensive renovation of a public school building on a near-impossibly short timeline. Fred's team and his subcontractors worked urgently and not only met our deadline, but helped us troubleshoot many unforeseen issues along the way. Our school is beautiful, the space is completely transformed, and Fred's team is to thank for that!

Chapin School

Chapin School

After successfully completing our initial turnkey project with The Chapin School in 2003, Bond Street Interiors kicked off a 14-year relationship with the all-girls independent day school. Now more than a decade later, this relationship has included multiple designs, new construction and renovation projects across numerous Chapin School locations in New York and New Jersey.
As an educational institution, The Chapin School needed our team to launch and complete projects during summers and school breaks to ensure both students and staff weren’t impacted. In addition, many of these projects would need to be executed at multiple locations simultaneously, and all within a compact timeframe.

With multiple turnkey projects occurring at the same time at separate locations, Bond Street Interiors organized and perfectly executed the extensive, multi-phase projects – on time and on budget.

Construction and renovation projects at various Chapin Schools have ranged from minor to comprehensive. Over our 14-year relationship, one of these projects included building the school’s first 3D printing lab, which enabled our team to play a key role in the school’s technological evolution.
Other multi-location projects have involved the construction of new institutional bathrooms with updated fixtures, tile, paint, and electrical; as well as the order, delivery and installation of LEED-certified flooring throughout several of their school’s locations.

As The Chapin School sought out efficiency and sustainability options, Bond Street Interiors recommended installing energy-efficient LED lighting to reduce operational costs while maintaining a well-lit environment for students. This was further reinforced with natural light from interior and exterior sources through custom glasswork that ACISCO created to energize each space across multiple locations.

As a cost-effective approach to meeting space requirements and client preferences, Bond Street Interiors also created custom millwork and pantries that highlighted the school’s educational and aesthetic exceptionalism. As our relationship continues, we look forward to completing more projects for The Chapin School in the
